Durch den bleichen Feuerschein des Mondes,

una antica pantomima italiana,
di qua risuona: l'arido Pierrot
è diventato, oggi, un sentimentale.
E risuona nel suo cuore devastato,
risuona ancora, smorzata, in tutti i suoi sensi,
Amabilmente triste - con un sospiro cristallino
una antica pantomima italiana.
Ed ecco che Pierrot dimentica le smorfie di dolore!
Attraverso il pallido riflesso di fuoco della luna,
attraverso i flutti del mare luccicante - la nostalgia vaga
ardita verso l'alto, in direzione del cielo natio,
amabilmente triste - con un sospiro cristallino!
